Barricade situation in Honolulu ends peacefully

HONOLULU (AP) — Honolulu police say a standoff with a distraught man has ended peacefully.

Emergency medical responders called police Saturday morning over the man who had barricaded himself inside a Mililani residence. Honolulu Police Maj. Alexander Ahlo says the man was found passed out and unarmed when officers entered the room where he had holed up. Authorities say talk of weapons and possible threats is what prompted officers to respond.

Ahlo says the man was taken to a hospital for treatment.
