Council looks for candidates to replace UH regent
HONOLULU (AP) — The Regents Candidate Advisory Council is looking for people to fill the remainder of Eric Martinson’s term on the University of Hawaii Board of Regents.
Council Chairman L. Thomas Ramsey says the deadline to apply for the vacancy is Sept. 16.
The council said Friday it will expeditiously work to provide Gov. Neil Abercrombie with a list of three finalists so the vacancy can be filled in a timely manner.
The university says Martinson resigned from the board this year for personal reasons.
There was a year left on his term.
Martinson served as board chairman for one year from May 2012.
His time as board chairman overlapped with the university athletic department’s botched attempt to hold a Stevie Wonder concert as a fundraiser.
