Hirono, Case to meet in televised debate July 26

HONOLULU (AP) — The two Democrats vying for their party’s nomination for a U.S. Senate seat will have their final televised debate July 26.

U.S. Rep. Mazie Hirono and former Congressman Ed Case will take part in a 90-minute debate, which will air on three Hawaii News Now stations, KHNL, KGMB and KFVE.

Hirono and Case are facing off in an Aug. 11 primary, with the winner likely to take on former Hawaii Gov. Linda Lingle, a Republican, in November.

The debate is the fifth between the Democratic contenders.
