Woman accused of mall violence
LIHUE, Hawaii (AP) — A woman has been arrested for allegedly taking a baseball bat and smashing an ATM machine and several store windows inside a Kauai mall.
Police say that 31-year-old Patricia Lewis is facing multiple charges, including criminal property damage. She is being held on $31,000 bail.
Police say Lewis used a baseball bat to smash an ATM machine at the American Savings Bank inside the Kukui Grove Shopping Mall on Wednesday night. She then continued on to Longs Drugs where police say she struck a glass door before heading to Jamba Juice and smashing a glass window. Lewis then tried to strike a window at Starbucks.
At that point she was confronted by several police officers who took the baseball bat and arrested her.
Police say no one was injured.
