A Guam judge has ordered $2 million bail for a man accused of killing two Japanese visitors and injuring 12 others after he drove his car into pedestrians and went on a stabbing rampage in the U.S. territory’s tourist district.
A Guam Superior Court magistrate judge on Wednesday appointed a public defender for 21-year-old Chad Ryan De Soto.
De Soto allegedly used a knife to stab and kill two women, 81-year-old Kazuko Uehara and 29-year-old Rie Sugiyama.
The records say De Soto told police he wanted to hurt as many people as he could, first with his car and then with his knife.
