Julita Marcelina Fernandez, 64, of Kailua-Kona died April 6 at home. Born in Honokaa, she was a retired bartender at the Courtyard Marriott King Kamehameha’s Kona Beach Hotel, member of the Kai O Pua Canoe Club, St. Michael’s Catholic Church and ILWU. Friends may call 4 p.m. Friday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, 74-574 Honokohau St., Kailua-Kona; mass at 6 p.m. Scattering of ashes at 12 noon Saturday in Kailua Bay. Casual attire. Survived by son, Brian (Kerry Robitaille) Fernandez of Aina Haina, Oahu; daughter, Nicola (Keola Dudoit) Fernandez of Kailua-Kona; brothers, James (Evelyn) Fernandez of Hilo, Vincent (Jackie) Fernandez of Atlanta, Ga., Michael (Alana) Fernandez of Honokaa; sister, Carmelita (Jacinthe) Carvalho of Kohala; two grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Milton Rapozo Branco, Sr., 89, of Hilo died March 29 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired surveyor for Murray, Smith & Associates, Inc., a U.S. Army veteran, and member of the Portuguese Golf Club. Visitation 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hilo; Mass at 10:30 a.m. Burial of the urn will follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery #2 in Hilo. Casual attire. Survived by son, Milton Branco, Jr. of Hilo; brothers, Manuel (Mildred) Branco, Jr. of Hilo and Patrick (Mary) Branco of Honolulu; sisters, Margaret Pacheco of Hilo, Mildred (Manuel) Pacheco of Hilo, and Dorothy Wright of Honolulu; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins. Jerry Koichi Takahama, 69, of Hilo, died April 6 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pearl City, he was a retired mechanic. Private services held. Survived by sons Mark Takahama of Honolulu, Tad Takahama and Cy Takahama, both of Hilo; daughter, Brenda Matsui of California; sisters, June Uehara, Frances Kawauchi and Eileen Tamaru, all of Honolulu, and Michelle Griffin of California; five grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, Arrangements by Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home.

Mariano “Pancho” Reclusado Burcena Jr., 61, of Kailua-Kona died March 26 in Ocean View. Born in Keaau, he was a Mason in the BAC Local 1 and worked for Isemoto Contracting. Friends may call 10 a.m. to 11 a.m Saturday at Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home; service at 11 a.m. Survived by mother Julita (Rudy Sr.) Silan of San Diego; sons, Chastin Burcena, Kekai (Joanne Maltezo) Burcena and Kemakana Burcena, all of Kailua-Kona, and Mario (Christy Pagala) Burcena III of Kurtistown; daughters, Dana Burcena (Joey) Decosta of Las Vegas, Marissa Burcena of Pahoa, Christina (Eddie Kuahiwinui) Burcena of Ocean View, Anissa Burcena of Kailua-Kona; hanai daughter Jenawae (Joshua) Pacatang of Kailua-Kona; brothers, Rudolf Silan of San Diego, Marvin Burcena of Honolulu, Keneth Burcena of Honolulu; sisters Patricia Amina of Kailua-Kona, Jessica Baskett of San Diego, Carol Otake of Washington, Maria Kristine Burcena of Washington; 17 grandchilren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunties, uncles.
