Mary Jose Fergerstrom, 83, of Holualoa died Aug. 13 in Woodinville, Wash. She was born in Holualoa. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 1. Casual attire. Survived by daughter, Debra (Christy) Fergerstrom Anderson of Woodinville, Wash.; son, Craig (Heidi) Fergerstrom of Redmond, Wash.; sisters, Rose Jose and Gladys Jose of Holualoa; brother, Tony (Dorothy) Jose of Kona; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Mele Tangikina Manuolevao, 73, of Hilo died Aug 10 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Tonga, she was a homemaker and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Keaukaha Ward. Visitation 5-10 p.m. Tuesday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hilo Stake Center. Friends may also call 8-10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Hilo Stake Center; funeral at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at Alae Cemetery (Mormon Section). Casual attire. Sarah M. Sogi, 88, of Kailua-Kona died Aug. 14 at home. Born in Kealakekua, she was an ikebana instructor, sculptor, member of the national board and World Service Council of the YWCA, and an activist in her community in White Plains, N.Y. where she lived for over 50 years. Services pending. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations suggested to the Sogi Foundation. Survived by son, Jun James Sogi of Kailua-Kona; daughter-in-law, Sarah J. Smith of Kailua-Kona; two grandchildren. Arrangements by A Hui Hou Crematory & Funeral Home of West Hawaii.
