Survived by a son, Steven Cantor of Hilo; mother, Mary Jane Cantor of Honolulu; four brothers, Peter (Iris) Cantor of Kalaoa, William (Gail) Cantor of Kailua-Kona, Stanley (Ann Takitani) Cantor of Kealakekua and Paul (Sharon Sakai) Cantor of Kailua-Kona; two sisters, Tessie Cantor of Captain Cook and Mary (Joel) Toves of Wahiawa; numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews. Otsuru Kaneshiro, 101, of Hilo died July 6 at Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Ewa, Oahu, she was a retired seamstress for Tori Richards, member of Jikoen Buddhist Church and Lanikila Senior Citizens. Private service. No koden. Survived by three sons, Richard (Setsuko) Kaneshiro of Honolulu, Harold (Patsy) Kaneshiro of Honolulu and Warren Kaneshiro of Los Angeles; three daughters, Mildred Holland of Los Angeles, Nancy (Buzzy) Capellas of Hilo and Patty Mattson of San Diego; three sisters, Fumiko Kaneshiro of Honolulu, Shigeko (Richard) Asato of Honolulu and Betsy Hansberry of California; a brother, George (Joyce) Nakasato of Honolulu; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren.
Jacqueline “Jackie” Masae Kaya, 50, of Hilo died Aug. 24 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Hilo, she was a WPC Clerk at the Hawaii Police Department, member of Heritage Christian Fellowship and Hawaii Government Employees Association. Friends may call 3:30–5 p.m. Wednesday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; funeral service at 5. Burial 10 a.m. Thursday at Homelani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Survived by fiance’, George Makua of Hilo; parents, Asami and Lei Kaya of Hilo; two brothers, Ronald (Carol Farias) Kaya of Hilo and Randall (Candace Paul) Kaya of Hilo; two sisters, Jasmine Iyo of Hilo and Lorraine Lerma of Hilo; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. Fumie Nakagawa, 82, of Hilo died Aug. 12 at home. She is survived by her husband, Isao Nakagawa of Hilo. Other information provided in the obituary published yesterday.
