Shannon Louis Nobuyuki Okamoto, 37, of Keaau died Nov. 26 at Hilo Medical Center. He was born in Hilo. Private services. Survived by brothers, Shawn ( Jenifer) Okamoto and Joseph Correa of Keaau; hanai brother, David Cushing of Hilo; two nieces and two nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Louise Leilani Stevens, 73, of Hilo died Nov. 10 at Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. Born in Hilo, she was a homemaker and former U.S. Army nurse. Visitation 9–10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 10 a.m. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Randy (Lisa) Stevens of Kapolei, Oahu, and Mark Stevens of Hilo; brothers, Michael John of Hilo and Samuel (Margaret) John of Washington; sister, Lorraine (Virgil) Medeiros of Hilo; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Justin Kaleialohi Tabar, 22, of Kailua, Oahu, died Nov. 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Honolulu, he was a kitchen worker for Kamehameha Schools on Maui. Celebration of life 10–11:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Waikane, Oahu. Prayer service at 11:30 a.m. Casual attire. Alexander “Alex” Tirado, 81, of Kailua-Kona, died Nov. 8 at Kona Community Hospital. Born on Lanai, he was a retired Jack’s Tours bus driver, Wackenhut security guard, co-owner of AGA Landscaping Co., member of American Legion Post 20 and U.S. Army veteran. Private services. Survived by wife, Betty Tirado of Kailua-Kona; sons, Dwayne (Pansy) Tirado of Grand Island, Neb., and David Tirado of Yankton, S.D.; daughters, Sandy (Jaime) Waltersa of Hilo and Kathy (Roger) Anderson of Rapid City, S.D.; five stepchildren; brothers, David Tirado, Wayne (Velma) Abalos and Gilbert (Irene) Abalos of Hilo; sister, Dolly (George) Best of Washington; eight grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
