Mark Raymond DeMattos, 50, of Ookala died Dec. 14 at Hilo Medical Center. Born on Maui, he was a retired Maui Community Correctional Center corrections officer. Visitation 9-10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19 at St. Ann’s Church in Waihee, Maui. Service at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Waihee Cemetery. Manuel Bernabe Gebin Sr., 66, of Pahoa died Jan. 8 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Binalonan, Pangasinan, Philippines, he was a retired tractor operator for the former Puna Sugar Co., retired papaya worker for Alii Papaya Co. and member of Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Friday at Pahoa Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation again 7-8 a.m. Saturday at the church. Funeral Mass at 8 a.m. Burial to follow at Pahoa Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire. Survived by wife, Lita Gebin of Pahoa; daughter, Flordeliza (William Carrillo) Gebin of Colorado; son, Manuel (Jeimy) Gebin Jr. of California; stepmother, Rita Gebin of Pahoa; sisters, Rosalind (Pablo) Martinez of Arizona and May (Edward Smithe) Gebin of Honolulu; brothers, Jeffrey (Cheyenne Handa) Gebin of Honolulu, Felipe (Feliciana) Gebin of Kona and Avelino (Violeta) Gebin of Ainaloa; two grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins. Patricia Louise Love, 69, of Hilo died Jan. 1 at home. Born in Pennsylvania, she was a retired public special education teacher. Visitation 6-9 p.m. Friday at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Wake service at 7 p.m. Visitation again 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church; Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Pahala Catholic Cemetery. Casual attire; flowers welcomed.
