Tsugio D. Araki, 75, of Kealakekua died June 30 at The Queen’s Medical Center. Born in Honaunau, he was retired as a coffee farmer, a service station attendant for Aloha Gas Co. and was a fourth-degree black belt judo sensei. Daniel “Danny Martin” Martin Santos, 97, of Hilo, died July 1 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Papaikou, he was a retired mechanic for the former Hilo Coast Processing Co., member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Papaikou; the Portuguese Cultural Club; the Papaikou Senior Citizens; and the Papaikou Kupuna Baseball Team.
