Deanna “Dee” Dalisay Conarton, 73, of Pahoa, died June 10 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Hilo, Hawaii, she was a retired cashier from Da Store and 1958 St. Joseph High School graduate. Visitation 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 17 at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 7 p.m. Graveside committal service 11:30 a.m. Thursday, July 18 at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire. Survived by sons, Bruce “Kimo” (Lei Cabrera) Conarton and Reginald (Che) Conarton Jr. of Pahoa; daughter, Paulette Renee Kuuipo (John) Kamakana of Ewa Beach, Oahu; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; nieces, nephews and cousins. Miyoko Sugano, 81, of Mountain View died June 30 at Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. Born in Honolulu, she was a retired professor of English at the University of Hawaii at Hilo, playwright and author. Friends may call 9:30–10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 18, at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Celebration of life at 10:30. Casual attire; no flowers. Memorial donations to Hospice of Hilo. Survived by niece, Barbara Sugano of California; nephews, Richard Sugano and Warren Sugano of Honolulu. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
