Delores “Kiki” Dowdy, 59, of Pahoa died June 16 at home. She was born in Mississippi. Celebration of life 6 p.m. Thursday, June 27, at gathering place on Kalapana-Kapoho Road (Red Road) in Pahoa. No known survivors. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
Oren Don Kalei Hoopai Sr., 56, of Mountain View died June 7 at The Queen’s Medical Center in Honolulu. Born in Lahaina, Maui, he was a Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Co. employee. Visitation 5-9 p.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Funeral service at 6 p.m. Visitation again 9-10 a.m. Sunday, June 30. Prayer service at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by wife, Doreen Hoopai of Mountain View; sons, Kalei (Bonnie) Hoopai of California and Teddy Stephen (Mealii) Hoopai of Hilo; daughters, Tammy (Richard Kepa) Miles of Kihei, Maui, Terry (Keola) Yasso of Kaunakakai, Molokai, Tracy (Anthony) Garcia and Cynthia Hoopai of Hilo; brothers, Dennis Hoopai of Kihei, Maui, Danny (Valerie) Hoopai of Lahaina, Maui, and Felton Ipo (Shirley) Hoopai of Maui; brother-in-law, Dan Berg of Waikoloa; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandson; aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Sadako Matsumoto Koga, 86, of Waimea, formerly of Papaaloa, died June 9 at home. Born in Paauhau Mauka, she was a homemaker and member of Papaaloa Hongwanji Mission. Visitation 10:30-11:30 a.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel. Memorial service at 11:30 a.m. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by son, Alan (JoAnn) Koga of Waimea; brothers, Hiroshi (Helen) Matsumoto and George (Elaine) Matsumoto of Honolulu, Donald (Carol) Matsumoto of Maui; sisters, Jane Osako of Honokaa, Yoshie (Alex) Okada of Waimea, Hideko (Dr. James) Miyashiro, Alice (Henry) Nakahodo, and Arline Matsumoto of Honolulu; brother-in-law, Manabu (Miharu) Koga of Honolulu; sisters-in-law, Tomie Matsumoto of Honokaa and Harumi Koga of Pepeekeo; two grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
