Katherine Keola Cain, 83, of Kapaau died May 19 in Kohala Hospital. Born in Niulii, she was an EKG technician and member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kohala ward. Friends may call at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Kohala Ward; service at 11 a.m.; burial to follow in Hawi County Cemetery. Survived by sons, Michael (Pamela) Cain of Farmington, N.Y., Richard Cain of New Athens, Ill., David (Sylvia) Cain of Cincinnati, Ohio; daughter, Cathy (Thomas) Helmick of Bradford, Ohio; brothers, James (Lorraine) Phillip of Marina, Calif., Charles (Patricia) Phillip of Panama City, Fla.; sisters, Rose Maeda of Kohala, Daisy (Robert) Naihe of Hilo, Theresa Mahi of Kalaoa, Esther Maeda of Kohala, Cynthia (Fred) Hatanaka of La Palma, Calif., Vivian Kim of Kohala; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.
