Monico Agarpao Lahip, 99, of Hilo died Nov. 12 at Hale Anuenue Restorative Care Center in Hilo. Born in the Philippines, he was a retired maintenance worker and a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo. Friends may call 5-9 p.m. Friday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; wake service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call 11 a.m.-noon Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hilo; Mass at noon. Casual attire; burial at Homelani Memorial Park (Ilima Section). Survived by son, Anacleto A. (Francisca) Lahip of Hilo; daughters, Monica Carmen Tagaca and Josie (James) Chow Hoy of Hilo, Cion (Rizal) Asuncion of Honolulu; brothers, Marcelo (Lawriana) Lahip of Sarrat, Ilocos Norte, Philippines and Leandro (Maria) Lahip of Pangasinan, Philippines; sister, Pilar (Maximiano) Ganotisi of Tuguegarao, Philippines; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Martin Richard LeDuc, 65, of Glenwood died Nov. 12 at the Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama facility. Born in Detroit, he was a union millwright employee, working in large power plants and automobile factories, and was a volunteer at ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center and Hawaii Volcanoes National Park. Memorial donations suggested to the ‘Imiloa Astronomy Center, 600 Imiloa Place, Hilo, HI 96720. Survived by brothers, Richard and James; sister, Cyndi; one aunt. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
Elsie Fusae Teshima, 95, of Honalo died Nov. 10 at home. Born in Napoopoo, she was a retired nurse’s aide at the Kona Community Hospital. Private services pending. Survived by sisters-in-law, Mary Teshima of Honalo and Kazue Teshima of Maui; numerous nieces and nephews. Arrangements by Dodo Mortuary.
Irene Judith Birchland was 71. An obituary published Monday stated an incorrect age.
Richard H. Shikuma died Nov. 1 at Pohai Malama Hospice. An obituary published Sunday gave an incorrect date.
