Barbara B.J. Eklund Sackett, 90, formerly of Hilo and Waimea, died Sept. 22 in Medford, Ore. Born in Kauai, she and her husband raised her two daughters in Hilo. Private ceremony and scattering of ashes to be held in Kona in January. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Hilo. Survived by daughters, Linda (Daryl) Smith of Volcano, and Trudy (Jeff) Roley of Big Rapids, Mich.; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Poselilo Bruce Sele, 55, of Hilo died Tuesday, Oct. 9, at the Hilo Medical Center. Born in American Samoa, he was a heavy equipment operator for Hamakua Mac Nut Factory. Private services. Survived by spouse, Louella Pang of Hilo; daugthers, Tupufia Sele of Hilo, and Salina (Ikaika) Sele-Pang of Hilo; sons, Bruce Sele of Oahu, Salilo Sele-Pang of Hilo, Lolilo (Tyaony) Sele-Pang of Hilo, Poselilo Sele-Pang of Hilo, Lunalilo Sele-Pang of Hilo, and Pasalilo Sele-Pang of Hilo; sisters, Laalaai (Stanley) Vae of California, and Tanya (Moni) Tetafia of Washington, D.C.; brothers, Aganuu (Faalupega) Sele of Oahu, Faauga Saoifanua of California, Sele Saoifanua of Hilo, and Taumalatou Saoifaunua of California; brother-in-law, Samoa Samoa of Hilo; three grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Trent Spencer Wilson, 48, of Mountain View died Wednesday, Oct. 10, at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Washington, he retired as a carpenter for Mike Gillett Construction. Survived by mother, Janet A. Cole; sister, Lynnette Wilson of Washington; nephew, Cole Wilson of Washington; one aunt; and three uncles. Arrangements by Borthwick Hawaii Funeral Home, Hilo.
