Frank A. “Woody” Flores, 68, of Pahoa, died Aug. 17 at home. Born in Hilo, he was a retired lineman for Mauna Kea Electric. Memorial services 12 noon Sunday, Sept. 9 at Hilo Missionary Church on Komohana Street. No flowers; casual Attire.Call Karen Desilva at 966-6872 for information. Survived by wife, Joan Gail Flores of Pahoa; sons, Alexander (Nani) Bras of Mountain View, Frank (Alvany) Bras of Ka‘u and John-Jon (Puanani) Freitas of Pahoa; stepson, Dexter (Naomi) Freitas of Oahu; stepdaughters, Ronalyn Freitas of California, Karen (Clayton) Desilva and Ro-Ann (Steven) Martin of Keaau, Alare Hopkins of Volcano, Deborah (Kenneth) Flores of Pahoa; brother,s Harry (Rhonda) Pagan and Benjamin (Laina) Torres of Hilo; sisters, Doris Russell, Lorraine (Kaholo) Powell and Diana (Michael G.) Roland Yoshitaka Shinde, 80, of Honolulu died Aug. 6 at Straub Clinic and Hospital. Born in Paauhau, he a retired U.S. Army Reserve master sergeant and Korean War veteran. Private inurnment held at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Survived by sisters, Yoshie Hashimoto and Miyoko Shinde of Honolulu, Satsuki Naito of Ookala, nieces and nephews.
