Yoshio Ishikane, 97, of Hilo died Sept. 2 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Paauilo, he was a retired carpenter, a member of the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin, Hilo Betsuin Hoyukai, Nohea Kumiai, and Hawaii Carpenters Union. Friends may call 2 p.m. Sunday at Dodo Mortuary Chapel; memorial service at 3 p.m. Casual attire; no flowers; no koden. Survived by sons, Jerry (Doris) Ishikane and Allan Ishikane of Honolulu, Harvey (Karen) Ishikane of Hilo; daughters, Karen (Kenneth) Suga, Lynn (Layne) Yoshida and Nora (Grant) Yoshida, all of Hilo; sister, Itsuko Sakamoto of Hilo; 13 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
