Haruyo “Hachan” Yoshina, 88, of Hilo died Aug. 29 at the Life Care Center of Hilo. Born in Kalaoa, Papaikou, she was a retired seamstress and member of Papaaloa Hongwanji Mission and Komohana Estates Association. Friends may call from 8:30-10 a.m. Thursday at Dodo Mortuary chapel in Hilo; Memorial service at 10 a.m. Casual attire. No koden. No flowers. Survived by brothers, Seiji (Kimie) Aoki, Junichi Aoki, both of Kalaoa, Futoshi (Yukiko) Aoki of Hilo; brother-in-law, Donald (Harriett) Yoshina of Hilo; sisters-in-law, Wakayo Okamoto of Kapaa, Kauai, Kathleen T. Sasae Murakami, 90, of Kona died Aug. 26 at the Life Care Center of Kona. Born in Keei, she was retired as a hospital operator for the Kona Hospital. Private services held. Survived by son, Mervin Murakami of Minnesota; daughters Gerry (Alan) Kawaguchi of Maui, Karen (Herbert) Ashizawa of Vancouver, Pearl Maeshiro of Honolulu and Lynn Tom of Kona; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
