Arizona guard signs with Vuls
Alexa Jacobs, a point guard from Glendale, Ariz., has signed a national letter of intent with the University of Hawaii at Hilo.
Vulcans women’s basketball coach David Kaneshiro announced the signing Monday.
Jacobs, a 5-foot-8 guard is entering her fourth year as a varsity player at Mountain Ridge High School. She is a three-time all-State selection and two-time all-Region Player of the Year runner-up.
Last year as a junior, Jacobs averaged 18 points, 7 assists, 4 rebounds and 6 steals per game.
“We are very excited that Alexa will be in our program for the next four years,” Kaneshiro said. “She is a very hard worker who is always working to improve her game. She has a high basketball IQ, excellent court vision and the ability to create scoring opportunities for her teammates as well as for herself.”
The Vulcans will lose eight seniors this year, opening the door for more recruits.
