Mana 10s to run

Aug. 5 in Waimea

The Big Island Road Runners will hold Mana Road 10- mile and 10-kilometer runs on Aug. 5 in Waimea.

Race-day registration is from 6:30 to 7:15 a.m. at a cost of $5 for BIRR members and $10 for non-members.

clay shoot results

The Kilauea Sporting Skeet Club held a compact sporting clay shoot on June 24 at the County Trap and Skeet Range.

The top guns in this 50-target event included:

• 12 gauge: Milford Tabura, 41; Mike Munnerlyn, 36; Jordan Hara, 29.

• Sub gauge: Elton Endo, 29; Dexter Egdamin, 22; Jimmy Watt, 20.

football tryouts set

Keaau High School will start fall sports tryouts for junior varsity and varsity football as well as girls volleyball from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the school gym.

All students must have a valid physical on file with the athletic office to participate in the tryouts.

The Hilo High School football program will hold tryouts at 11:30 a.m. Monday at the school gym.

All student-athletes must have a current physical and physical forms can be picked up at the school’s main office.

Puna AYSO fall

sign-ups ongoing

The Puna section of the American Youth Soccer Association is still accepting registration for the fall season, which runs from mid-August until November, for new and returning boys and girls players ages of 4 to 18.

Players can register online at www.eayso.org-Region 738. Print three copies of the registration form and mail with $60 payment to AYSO PUNA, P.O Box 955, Keaau, HI 96749. Sign-ups after July 28 are $75.
