Big Island Candies Hilo Bay Classic results

Hilo’s Ben Lord, right, and Waiakea’s Tyler Kerr battle for possession of the ball Friday at the Big Island Candies Hilo Bay Classic. Lord’s two goals helped the Vikings beat their rivals 5-1. Kerr scored for the Warriors, but Hilo also got one goal apiece from Andrew Dawrs, Dylan Silva and Rayce Takayesu. In the other match at the preseason tournament, Mehana Sabado-Halpern’s goal in the 77th minute gave the Lady Vikings a 1-1 tie with Roosevelt. Caitlin Tatemichi found the net in the first half for the Roughriders of the Oahu Interscholastic Association. The tournament continues through Sunday.
