Lady Vuls golfers set to start spring season
The University of Hawaii at Hilo’s women’s golf team opens up its spring season today at the Lady Rattler Roundup in San Antonio, Texas.
Shannon Abarra, Nyssa Aoki, Kacie Harada, Erika Morihiro and Kristen Sawasa teamed up to give the Vulcans top-five finishes in all three of their fall tournaments, including a victory at the Western Washington Women’s Intercollegiate.
The Vulcans are slated to play six tournaments before the Pacific West Conference championships in mid-April.
It will also be busy day on campus for UHH as well.
In addition to men’s (4:30 p.m.) and women’s (2 p.m.) basketball games against Hawaii Pacific, the men’s tennis team makes its only appearance of the season at its courts this morning at 9 a.m. against Cal San Diego (3-3).
UHH (0-2) lost to the No. 21 Tritons 8-1 on Friday at Holua Resort at Mauna Loa Village, getting a victory from Tom Greer-Smith and Kainoa Rosa in doubles. On Saturday, Hawaii Pacific beat UHH 9-0.
