Lanakila claims girls U19 title in Oregon
HYSA 2013 U19 Girls Soccer team “Lanakila” went undefeated and captured the U19 championship in the 2013 EMFC Adidas Premier Cup on July 14 in Eugene, Ore. Lanakila consisted of players from Big Island high school.
The talented Lanakila girls travel to San Diego today to compete in the Albion Cup National Soccer Showcase, which runs Friday through Monday and is presented by PUMA. Over 60 college coaches from around the country will be present to watch.
Members of champion Lanakila are Jashea Leleiwi, Lolly Higa, Mika Bettencourt, Taylor Matas, Jr. Coach Tiana Edwards, Kaili’i Smith, Delcee Ramos, Mae Quiamas, Jordan Melchor, Brianna Vallente, Harper Hottendorf, Emily Evans, Caili Ebaniz, Karissa Komo, Lexie Cuaresma, Gabrielle Ewing, Monica Carlos, Nanea Tavares and Taiana Tollestrop. The coaches are Trevor Edwards and John Edwards.
