Online Extra: Arkansas stops Rainbow Wahine
Sarah Watkins scored 25 points Saturday and Arkansas coasted past the University of Hawaii 83-68 at the Waikiki Beach Marriott Rainbow Wahine Showdown.
Kamilah Martin scored 20 points with nine rebounds for UH (2-4). A day after she scored 17 points in a victory against Oregon, Hilo High graduate Vicky Tagalicod had five points. Waiakea graduate Kanisha Bello and Ka’u grad Pua Kailiawa didn’t register a point as the Rainbow Wahine bench was outscored 41-8.
Trailing 38-29 at halftime, Hawaii got within four points on Monica DeAngelis’ 3-pointer with 13:23 remaining to play, but the Razorbacks (4-1) used a 15-4 run to pull away.
Keira Peak scored 16 points for Arkansas, which shot 50 percent from the field.
