Online Extra: Host Lady Warriors edge Mililani

Nicole Antonio scored 13 points, Sefulu Faavae 12 and Kaydee Rapoza 10 to lead the host Warriors to a 48-44 win over Mililani in the final round of the Waiakea Girls Basketball Tournament.

Kira Arruda led the Trojans, one of the strongest teams this year on Oahu, with 17 points, including four 3-pointers. Nayla Long added 12 points.

In other games Saturday at the Warriors Gym, it was: Hilo JV 54, Ka’u 29; Mililani 53, Keaau 10; Waiakea 62, Kealakehe 10; and Maui 70, Keaau 22. The preseason tournament ran Thursday through Saturday.

Hilo JV 54, Ka’u 29: Sharpshooter Sidnee Yokota poured in 19 points and Kyra Kaloi had 14 to lead the young Vikings. Shaylin Navarro, Leah Cariaga and Toni Beck each had six points for the Trojans.

• Mililani 53, Keaau 10: Kira Arruda had 13 points and Kapili Amaimalia 10 to lead the Trojans. Maedina Ongais-Kilaulani topped the Cougars with six points.

Kohala 43, Hawaii Prep 41: The Cowgirls survived a thriller on the final day of the preseason basketball tournament.

Sheana Cazimero led Kohala with 14 points in the win, and Tezra Antonio added 12.

Tiana Reynolds led Ka Makani with 15 points, and Eliyah Fernandez scored 14.

Hilo 48, McKinley 37: Lexi Pana led the Vikings with 12 points in the victory over McKinley.

Hilo 51, Kealakehe 11: Promising freshman point guard Lexi Pana led the Vikings with five points. Kehaulani Lee scored eight points to lead the Waveriders.

McKinley 44, HPA 21: Taisha Thompson led the visitors from the OIA with 12 points, and Anna Juan scored six to lead Hawaii Prep.

Thursday

McKinley 41, Kohala 25: McKinley pulled away steadily behind Laika Aragon’s 14 points. Tezrah Antonio led the Cowgirls with 12 points.

and Hawaii Prep earned victories Thursday in the first round of the Ka Makani Girls Basketballl Tip-Off Classic.

HPA 61, Kealakehe 15: Ula Brostek led the Ka Makani with 14 points, and Eliyah Fernandez added 12.

Kehaulani Lee led Kealakehe with five points.
