Online Extra: Pacifics power past Stars

Kyle Dhanani, Maikel Jova and Johnny Woodard homered Friday night to power San Rafael to a 6-3 victory over the Hawaii Stars in San Rafael, Calif.

Jova’s solo home run off Brock Heerdt gave the Pacifics the lead in the sixth, and Woodard followed with his Pacific Association-leading 11 home run of the season.

Mitch Levier homered and doubled as part of a 3-for-4 night, driving in three runs for the Stars (25-37-1).

Making his first appearance of the season for Hawaii, Heerdt allowed three hits and a walk in an inning of relief of starter Ronnie Loeffler, who pitched the first four innings.

Logan Odom (9-1) pitched seven innings and allowed seven hits and three runs with seven strikeouts for the Pacifics (51-16).

Dhanani’s solo home run in the bottom of the second tied the game 1-1, and Price Kendall’s double helped San Rafael score twice in third.

Hawaii was originally scheduled be on Maui on Friday as part of a four-game series, but the league ushered the Stars to California ahead of the playoffs.
