Emily Hartong ripped 14 kills and Jane Croson added 13 on Saturday night as the University of Hawaii wrapped up its first Big West volleyball title with a 25-19, 25-17, 25-19 victory against lowly Cal Poly at Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Relying on their two leading outside hitters, the No. 9 Rainbow Wahine (21-2, 14-0) hit .317 to win their NCAA-best 69th straight league contest.
Middle blockers Kalei Adolpho and Jade Vorster each recorded four kills and setter Mita Uiato added a match-high 21 assists and a team-high seven digs.
Holly Franks had eight kills for Cal Poly (3-21, 2-10), which hit just .163
Hawaii steps out of conference to host Division II BYU-Hawaii at 7 p.m. Thursday.
