Second Penn Gym to open
A second UFC/BJ Penn gym will open on Oahu, it was announced Monday.
The gym, which will be located in Waikele Center in Waipahu, will begin enrolling members today and is scheduled to open for workouts early next year.
“I’m excited to partner with UFC GYM to open another location so soon after the successful opening of our first Oahu gym nearly two years ago,” Penn, a Hiloan and former two-division UFC champion, said in a written statement. “We wanted to expand on the west side of the island to continue to share our workouts and lifestyle that have proven successful not only for our members, but for me, personally, as well as many of the world’s most elite UFC athletes.”
The 30,000 square-foot facility will feature a 30-foot octagon, Brazilian jiu-jitsu studio, bag room, top-of-the-line strength training and cardio machines, battling ropes, agility ladders and other functional training equipment for dynamic workouts.
