Sporting skeet shoot contest


The Kilauea Sporting Skeet Club held a compact sporting clay shoot on Feb. 24 at the County Trap and Skeet Range. The five-stand course offered a wide variety of targets.

The top guns in the 50-target event included:

• 12 gauge: Milford Tabura, 40; Mike Munnerlyn, 39; Tracy Lewis and Steve Kaufman, 32.

• Sub gauge: Dexter Egdamin, 33; Jimmy Watt, 29; Elton Endo, 27.

The next shoot will be held April 21, from 9 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. The public is invited to participate.

All shotguns, ammunition, eye and ear protection shall be supplied by each individual participant. A potluck lunch is planned, with drinks provided by the club.

The range will be closed in the morning only, on the third Saturday of every month. It will be open from 12:30 to 4 p.m. on these days. This furlough schedule will continue through June.
