Goalie/striker camp at Honokaa
Ziggy Korytoski University of Hawaii Hilo men’s head coach Ziggy Korytoski and his staff will host their annual goalkeeper and striker camp from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Honokaa High School.
“The camp will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. both day,” Korytoski said, noting an incorrect time for Saturday ran in a previous announcement.
Cost is $85 for the two-day camp, which will be staffed by UH-Hilo soccer coaches and current and former players.
On site registration starts at 8:30 a.m.

HISOA officials meeting on tap
A basketball rules interpretation and mechanics meeting for East Hawaii officials and coaches will be held at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 14 in the Hoolulu Recreation Complex Conference room.
Designed for the 2012-13 Big Island Interscholastic Federation’s season, Hawaii Island Sports Officials Association Basketball Coordinator/Rules Interpreter Mason Souza will discuss the NFHS points of emphasis, rules and professionalism.
A session for West Hawaii officials and coaches will be scheduled for a date in Kailua-Kona, HI.

Tan shoots sterling round
Gene Tan, age 85, shot a gross 83 on Nov. 6 at Hilo Municipal Golf Course. He was playing with the Usual Suspects Golf Club when he completed the outstanding round.
Witnessing Tan’s feat were Arnold Gregory, Parke Elmore and Jack Wells.
Youth, adult sports in Waimea
The Department of Parks and Recreation in Waimea will be holding registration for T-ball and coach-pitch baseball as well as boys age group basketball and adult flag football.
Sign-ups for the upcoming youth sports follow:
• Boys Age Group Basketball (Ages 9/10, 11/12, 13/14)
Sign-up: Nov. 19-30, at the Waimea Community Center (11 a.m.-2 p.m.)
Clinic: Dec. 3-5 at Thelma Parker Gym
Ages: 9/10, 3:30-4:30 p.m.
Ages: 11-14, 4:30-5:30 p.m.
• Tee Ball & Coach Pitch (Ages 5/6 & 7/8)
Sign-up: Nov. 26-Dec. 7 at the Waimea Community Center (11 a.m.-2 p.m.)

Waimea P&R is looking to form a recreational team. All interested players are invited to an informational meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 27 at the Waimea Community Center.
Keiki Surfing Classic slated
BASIC IMAGE, Inc. the “Honoli‘i Friend of the Park” organization and Honoli‘i Paka Crew has scheduled the 9th Annual Keiki Surfing Classic to be held Saturday, Nov. 17 at Honoli‘i Beach Park from approximately 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. (Check in at 8:30 am). The public is welcome to attend.
There will be a temporary road closure — on Kahoa Street beginning at Nahala Street from 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 16 to 5 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17 and a one‑way traffic pattern from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday.
Traffic barricades, signs and Special Duty Officers will be part of the traffic control plan.
