Age group baseball
The Recreation Division of the Parks & Recreation in Hilo will hold an organizational meeting for T-Ball (ages 5-6) and Coach Pitch (7-8) at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 12 at the Aunty Sally’s Luau House.
The league is scheduled to start in February, with games being played Monday through Thursday at various ballfields in the Hilo and Puna district. League rules and format will be discussed at this meeting and registration packets will be distributed. All teams should have a team representative present at the meeting.

Hilo LL signups
Hilo Little League opens registration for players, managers and coaches interested in the Minor and Major Divisions of baseball for ages 8-12 commencing in November and running through Jan. 31, 2013.
Player registration and medical forms, proofs of residency requirements, and manager or coach applications can be obtained by visiting www.hilolittleleague.com or by calling (808) 987-8469.
The deadline for a manager or coach application for these divisions is Jan. 5, 2013. Late applications will be placed on a wait list.
First Tee Program
Kona Country Club will host an Open House for the First Tee Program on Sunday, Dec. 2.
Hilo coaches Ken Zitz and Kellan Anderson will help Kona coach Milton Alcos with the Open House, which starts at 2 p.m. at the Kona Country Club driving range.
Alcos has been a highly regarded teaching coach with the Kona junior golf programs over the years.
There will be a meeting for the parents with Coach Zitz, who is also the executive director, at 2 p.m. Coaches Alcos and Anderson will conduct a golf clinic at that time and talk story with the youth to explain First Tee Hawaii.
