Notes: The Vulcans are coming off a 13-11 campaign but are beginning a transformation as they open their season with an exhibition game against the Division I Rainbow Wahine. … Entering his fourth season, coach David Kaneshiro returns two players, including Kamie Imai, who led UHH last season with 10.9 points and 7.3 rebounds a game. … Imai, a transfer from Division I Utah State and a Waiakea High graduate, is the team’s only senior, and eight of the Vulcans’ nine juniors are incoming transfers. … The Wahine lead the all-time series 3-0, winning 72-47 last season in Honolulu. … Kamilah Jackson — formerly Kamilah Martin — was first-team all-Big West last season, averaging 15.1 points and 9.8 rebounds. The league’s Sixth Player of the Year, Shawna-Lei Kuehu, and Defensive Player of the Year, Sydney Haydel, are among the nine letter winners back for coach Laura Beeman, who went 17-14 in her first season at Manoa.
