HONOLULU — University of Hawaii punter Alex Dunnachie is suspended for an indefinite number of games after pleading no contest to drunk driving.
The 21-year-old was arrested in Honolulu last month and was released on $500 bail.
The Honolulu Star-Advertiser reports head coach Norm Chow says the team’s only punter will be allowed to join training camp on Monday. Friday’s suspension announcement comes hours after Dunnachie’s plea in court.
Dunnachie is scheduled to be sentenced on Aug. 24.
Quarterback Cayman Shutter and linebacker Alema Tachibana were arrested in March and June. Shutter pleaded no contest to DUI and was suspended for the season’s first four games. Tachibana pleaded not guilty to drunk driving and trial is scheduled for Oct. 15.
