Coached by Waiakea girls coach Brandon Kauhi, Hawaii Elites’ 14-under girls basketball team finished 5-0 to win the championship in its division at the Bigfoot Hoops Las Vegas Live tournament.
On the team are Leah Hara, Anela Tremaine-Gonzalez, Maela Honma, Bethany Honma, Keani Midel, Braelyn Kauhi, Kayla Cabatbat, Jayla Tadeo-Jose and Bryanna Ganir. Kauhi is assisted by Todd Yanagi and assistant coach Shannon Poe.
Hawaii Elite’s varsity girls team went undefeated in pool play before losing in the semifinals to finish with a 3-1 record.
