Sloss to speak at VBC luncheon
University of Hawaii at Hilo tennis coach Karl Sloss will be the guest speaker at the Vulcan Booster Club luncheon at Coqui’s Hideaway Restaurant on Tuesday.
The event starts at noon and the cost is $15 per person. The public is encouraged to attend in order to meet Sloss and his athletes.
Sloss was a nationally-ranked USTA junior player and 1998 Illinois IHSA State singles champion. His collegiate career began at the University of Minnesota (1998-01) where he participated on two NCAA Division I Sweet 16 teams.
Sloss received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Hawaii Pacific University in 2003 and a Bachelor of Science in Food Science and Human Nutrition from the University of Hawaii in 2012.
The Vulcan Booster club is organized as a non-profit entity under the UH Foundation with the goal of raising funds for UH-Hilo athletics.
