NORMAL, Ill. — Cleanthony Early scored 23 points and No. 5 Wichita State erased a halftime deficit to defeat Illinois State 70-55 on Wednesday night.
Early added 10 rebounds as the Shockers (20-0, 7-0 Missouri Valley) remained one of three unbeaten teams in major college basketball, along with top-ranked Arizona and No. 2 Syracuse.
Ryan Baker added 15 points and Wichita State used a 22-6 surge out of halftime to quiet a crowd of 9,510, Illinois State’s largest in three years. ISU (11-8, 4-3) had won 10 of 13.
The Shockers made 11 of 27 from 3-point range, led by Early’s 6 for 9. Illinois State was just 1 of 25 from deep.
ISU shot 32 percent overall (19 of 59).
Tekele Cotton scored 12 points for Wichita State.
No. 7 SAN DIEGO STATE 75, SAN JOSE STATE 50
SAN JOSE, Calif. — Xavier Thames scored 15 points and San Diego State extended the second-longest winning streak in school history to 16 games with a victory over San Jose State.
Josh Davis added 10 points and 12 rebounds, and Winston Shepard and Skylar Spencer scored 12 apiece for the Aztecs (17-1, 6-0 Mountain West), who won their first six conference games for the first time since starting 7-0 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association in 1966-67. San Diego State has also won its last 39 games against California schools.
Devante Wilson scored 14 points for the Spartans (6-13, 0-7), who have lost seven straight. They have dropped 20 consecutive games against ranked teams since beating Alabama in overtime on Dec. 27, 1996.
The Aztecs, off to their best start since winning their first 20 games three years ago, broke the game open with a pair of 16-0 runs in the second half.
MINNESOTA 81, No. 9 WISCONSIN 68
MINNEAPOLIS — DeAndre Mathieu and Mo Walker each scored 18 points, an outside-inside combination that helped Minnesota hand Wisconsin its third straight loss.
Malik Smith added 14 points, beating the shot clock on a 3-pointer with 39 seconds left. Austin Hollins had 11 points and four steals for the Golden Gophers (15-5, 4-3 Big Ten). Walker grabbed nine rebounds, and Mathieu went 8 for 13 from the floor.
Sam Dekker led the Badgers (16-3, 3-3) with 20 points and six rebounds. Nigel Hayes added 12 points, and Frank Kaminsky and Josh Gasser had nine apiece. The conference’s leading 3-point shooting team finished 5 for 20 from behind the arc and didn’t fare any better around the basket.
Minnesota was dealt a potentially devastating setback only 16 seconds into the game when Andre Hollins rolled his left ankle after swishing a jumper on the opening possession. The junior shooting guard, who was averaging 16.2 points, did not return.

ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Nik Stauskas scored 26 points and Michigan held off Iowa to remain unbeaten in Big Ten play.
The Wolverines (14-4, 6-0) have won eight straight to set up a showdown in East Lansing on Saturday night with rival Michigan State, the league’s only other unbeaten team in conference action.
Aaron White scored 14 of Iowa’s points in a row down the stretch, but it wasn’t enough to rally the Hawkeyes (15-4, 4-2) from an 11-point deficit.
White and Melsahn Basabe scored 17 each for Iowa. Glenn Robinson III had 14 points for Michigan and Jordan Morgan added 12.
No. 12 LOUISVILLE 86, SOUTH FLORIDA 47
TAMPA, Fla. — Wayne Blackshear scored 16 points to pace a balanced offense that carried Louisville to a rout of cold-shooting South Florida.
Luke Hancock and Montrezl Harrell had 14 points apiece for the Cardinals (17-3, 6-1 American Athletic Conference), who shot 52.2 percent from beyond the 3-point arc and just under 51 percent overall.
South Florida (10-9, 1-5) lost to a ranked opponent for the second time in less than a week, shooting just 36 percent from the field. The Bulls, coming off a seven-point loss to AAC leader Cincinnati, turned the ball over 23 times while allowing Louisville to outscore them 35-6 off miscues.
Chris Perry led USF with 10 points before fouling out.
Hancock made four 3-pointers. Blackshear went 3 for 4 from behind the arc, and Louisville was 12 of 23 overall.
RICHMOND 58, No. 13 MASSACHUSETTS 55
RICHMOND, Va. — Kendall Anthony scored 21 points and Richmond hung on in the final minute to end a six-game winning streak for Massachusetts.
Anthony made his first four 3-point attempts for Richmond (13-6, 3-1 Atlantic 10), including one from the right side after the Minutemen had closed to 52-48 with 4:10 remaining.
Sampson Carter had 15 points to lead UMass (16-2, 3-1).
Cady Lalanne’s dunk pulled the Minutemen to 55-53 with 38.3 seconds to play, but Cedrick Lindsay made three of four free throws for the Spiders in the last half-minute to help secure the victory. He finished with 11 points.
UMass star Chaz Williams, averaging 16.3 points, had just two at halftime and finished with eight. He missed a long 3-point try at the end of the game.
It was the fifth victory in the last six home games against ranked teams for Richmond.
No. 18 DUKE 67, MIAMI 46
CORAL GABLES, Fla. — Jabari Parker had 17 points and a season-high 15 rebounds as Duke earned its first league road win of the season by beating Miami.
Parker helped the Blue Devils to a 42-28 advantage on the boards, which allowed them to overcome a poor shooting night. Duke outscored Miami 22-7 on second-chance points.
A sellout crowd included Kobe Bryant, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, all seated in the front row. Bryant was at the other end of the court from the Miami Heat stars.
The Blue Devils (15-4, 4-2 Atlantic Coast Conference) avenged a 27-point loss the last time they played in Coral Gables. That was a year ago, when Duke was ranked No. 1.
Duke has won its past two games by a combined 56 points. Coach Mike Krzyzewski earned his 899th win at Duke, which leaves the NCAA men’s career leader in victories one shy of joining Syracuse’s Jim Boeheim with at least 900 wins at one school.
Defending conference champion Miami (10-8, 2-4) remained winless in three league games at home.
No. 19 SAINT LOUIS 76, DUQUESNE 72
PITTSBURGH — Mike McCall scored 13 points, including two free throws with 13 seconds remaining, and Saint Louis avoided an upset by beating Duquesne.
Reserve forward Grandy Glaze added 12 points and Rob Loe had 10 for the Billikens (18-2, 5-0 Atlantic 10), who won their 12th consecutive game.
Ovie Soko scored 18 points to lead Duquesne (8-9, 1-5).
The Dukes went ahead 72-70 on Jeremiah Jones’ free throws with 57 seconds remaining, but Austin McBroom made a 3-pointer that gave the Billikens a 73-72 lead with 47 seconds left.
The Dukes had a chance to take the lead with 13 seconds remaining, but Dominique McKoy missed a reverse layup. McCall rebounded and was fouled, and he made two free throws to seal it.
No. 25 OKLAHOMA 77, TCU 69
NORMAN, Okla. — Ryan Spangler scored all 13 of his points in the second half and grabbed a career-high 16 rebounds to help Oklahoma hold off Texas Christian.
Buddy Hield had 16 points and Cameron Clark added 15 for the Sooners (15-4, 4-2 Big 12), who moved into a tie for second place in the Big 12 despite struggling against the last-place team in the league.
The Sooners had trouble scoring for much of the night but made up for it by playing one of their best defensive games. Oklahoma held TCU to 43 percent shooting and forced 16 turnovers.
Kyan Anderson scored 23 points for TCU (9-9, 0-6), which lost its previous four conference games by an average of 22 points.
