Triathletes compete in the Ironman World Championships Saturday in West Hawaii. The race consisted of a 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and 26.2 mile run all beginning and ending in Kailua-Kona.

HONOLULU — Four games into his University of Hawaii basketball career, Roderick Bobbitt has already begun re-writing the Rainbow Warriors history book.
The University of Hawaii at Hilo women’s basketball team probably did its homework, and recognized that Katie Hardy and a bunch of Beavers didn’t come in from the cold of North Dakota, where the temperature is in the 25-degree range, to take a sun tan.
Last season, Hilo had everything in its favor — especially the Pana sisters, Aliyah and Alexis, in their final time together — to take down Konawaena, the greatest program and basketball powerhouse in league history.
