A winter storm watch has been issued for Big Island summits through late Thursday night.
The National Weather Service said up to 6 inches of snow may accumulate by Friday morning.
A winter storm watch means that the potential exists for significant snow accumulation that may adversely affect the summits.
Winds of 10-15 mph are expected with temperatures in the upper 20s to mid-30s.
