John Joseph Edmunds Jr., 92, of Waikoloa and Towaco, N.J., died Dec. 21 at the Jerry and Dolores Turco Medical Rehab Center in Lincoln Park, N.J. Born in Mars Hill, Maine, he was a World War II Navy veteran and professional engineer. A celebration of his life will be held in Towaco in the spring. Survived by daughter, Dee Edmunds of Waikoloa; son-in-law, Jonathan Himalaya of Hilo; son, John Edmunds III of Towaco, N.J.; daughter-in-law, Ana Maria Edmunds of Bloomingdale, N.J.; daughter, Karla (Eugene) Christensen of Jordan, Mont.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Rickey “R.B.” Lee Bailey Sr., 60, of Captain Cook died Dec. 1 at the Kona Community Hospital. Born in Salinas, Calif., he was a former kitchen manager for Huggo’s Restaurant.
