James Chia Fang Wang, 85, of Hilo died Dec. 30 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Nanling County, Anhui Province, China, he worked at the United Nations in New York, at Punahou School and the East-West Center in Honolulu, was a political science professor at the University of Hawaii at Hilo and was a member of the Democratic Party, the East-West Center Assocation and the UH Professional Assembly, and served on the Hawaii Campaign Spending Commission as chairman. Friends may call at 3 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Dodo Mortuary Chapel for a celebration of life. Casual attire. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in memory of Dr. Wang to either the University of Hawaii Foundation (designated for the University of Hawaii at Hilo) at P.O. Jayson J. Correa, 46, of Hilo died Jan. 2 in Hilo. Born in Hilo, he was an education assistants school administrator for the State of Hawaii at Keaau Elementary School and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rose Luce Ferreira, 91, of Kalopa Homesteads in Honokaa died Dec. 31 at North Hawaii Community Hospital. Born in Kalopa Homesteads, she was a homemaker and member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Alice Andrade Moses, 79, of Pahala, died Dec. 25 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Pahala, she was a retired custodian at Ka’u High School and a member of the Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church and choir.
