The Big Island Football Officials Association presented the Ka’u High School football team with the annual BIFOA Sportsmanship Award during the officials banquet held Dec. 10 at the Paniolo Inn in Kamuela. Former Ka’u and Konawaena multi-sport standout Dylan Rush accpeted the award for Ka’u head coach and Dylan’s father, Greg Rush. BIFOA secretary Charley Espin said the officials were impressed by the Trojans’ outstanding sportsmanship on the gridiron. “They don’t win a lot, but they always treat the officials with great respect,” Espin said. “I believe this really says a lot about the Ka’u community in general and their student athletes in particular.” — BIFOA photo
