Francis “Bolo” T. Miller, 68, of Hilo died Dec. 22 in Honolulu. Born in Waimanalo, Oahu, he was a self-employed cook. Memorial and celebration of life service 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Jan. 21 at the YMCA, 300 W. Lanikaula St., Hilo. Casual attire; no flowers. Survived by companion, Pearl Mokuhalii; son, Francis Miller Jr.; stepson, Troy (Diane) Mokuhalii; daughters, Jessie (Michele) and Kanani Miller, Angel (Mark) Saizon and Jamielyn (Ben) Amituanai; stepdaughter,, Chantelle (Jason) Ballesteros; brother, John “Chubby” Miller Jr.; sisters, Wilma “Shadda” Galdeira; Elaine “Nette” Kiko; 12 grandchildren.

Martha Masae Hashimoto, 64, of Los Angeles died Jan. 4 in Los Angeles. Born in Hilo, she was the owner of a beauty salon. Service at 2 p.m. Jan. 21 at Fukui Mortuary’s “Chapel in the Garden,” 707 E. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90012. Survived by husband, Melvin Kazuto Hashimoto; children, Terry Mutsue, Stuart Masato (Gabriela) and Lynn Kazue (Brian Roberts) Hashimoto of Washington; siblings, Royden Kimoto of Hawaii, Rodney and Stanley Kimoto; son-in-law Patrick Garcia; four grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
