Senior guard Lia Galdeira scored 16 points, and junior forward Courtney Kaupu added 11 as defending Hawaii High School Athletic Association Division I state champion Konawaena improved to 5-0 with a 64-16 road victory over Kohala in a Big Island Interscholastic Federation girls basketball game on Saturday.
Senior Makayla Awa added 10 points for the Wildcats. Senior guard Chyler Imai finished with eight points — half of the scoring output for the Cowgirls (2-3).
In the JV game, Konawaena defeated Kohala 32-23 behind sophomore Makani Wall’s 18 points.
Junior Brittany Balgas led Kohala with eight points.

* Waiakea 49, Keaau 39: At Waiakea, Daven Namohala-Roloos scored 15 points and Alyssa Ferreira added 14 in a D-I game as the Warriors overcame a three-point halftime deficit to improve to 5-0.
Jacy Pagala, coming off a sprained ankle, scored a game-high 16 points for the Cougars (1-4).
In junior varsity, Vanessa Ignacio scored 15 points and Christa Amuimuia had 11 in Waiakea’s 65-20 victory.
