Joanne Michele Carvalho, 56, of Kapaau died Jan. 11 at home. Born in Hilo, she was a licensed practical nurse for Hilo Medical Center, Earl Bakken and others, and a member of the Kui’kahi Baptist Church in Kapaau. Friends may call 10-11 a.m. Saturday at Landmark Baptist Church in Kapaau, (54-3660 Akoni Pule Highway in Kohala); celebration of her life at 11 a.m., with luncheon to follow at the Carvalho residence in Kapaau. An urn committal will be held at 12:30 p.m. at Mauna Kea Memorial Park in Papaikou. Casual attire; flowers welcome.
