Janis “Babe” Makalapua Omori, 63, of Captain Cook died Dec. 3 at Kona Community Hospital. Born in Kealakekua, she was a supervisor at the Macadamia Nut Factory an employee of Mrs. Field’s Cookie Co. and Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Farm, and member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church.
