“I invite you to join me on the path of personal freedom, peace and joy.”

The public is invited to a Day of Mindfulness on Saturday, March 10, in Hawaiian Paradise Park.

“Mindfulness is relaxing, insightful and happy,” said host Marty Mimmack. “This day of mindfulness is a nonsectarian period to more deeply experience understanding, awareness and compassion for self and all sentient beings.

“Regardless of spiritual path, we all have access to psychological fortitude and physical well-being. From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., we will meditate silently while sitting and walking, hear a short talk, relax deeply and share uplifting stories.

“Many enjoy these extended opportunities to concentrate on inner happiness and physical well-being,” he said.

The session will be at the beginner/intermediate level. The cost is $10. Signup deadline is March 8.

“I have been following the teachings of Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh (Thay) since 2004,” said Mimmack.

“This mindfulness event is based on Thay’s books, talks and tradition of ‘Engaged Buddhism.’ Mindfulness, however, is widely regarded as a universal practice beneficial to all.
