Women’s luncheon at Anna’s Ranch
Women on the Big Island are invited to a luncheon at historic Anna’s Ranch in Waimea from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15. Guest speaker Trina Pockett of California will speak about “Hope in the Hard Times.”
The event will be sponsored by the Kona Women’s Connection, an outreach of Stonecroft Ministries International. Pockett is Stonecroft’s western area director. Visit www.stonecroft.org.
Cost for the luncheon is $12, with a discounted $5 entry fee for those wanting to tour the historic site.

Christian writers returning to Kona
From inspiring fiction to navigating the Internet to fast-paced magazine articles, the upcoming Christian Writers’ Workshops at The Regency at Hualalai in Kona aim to help aspiring writers climb their way to success.
The series includes Fundamentals of Fiction, Feb. 27 to March 2, with authors Brock and Bodie Thoene; Making Social Media Work for You, March 5-9, with Thomas Umstattd Jr., and Magazine and Nonfiction Writing, March 12-16, with Scott and Sandi Tompkins.
Classes run from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., with lunch at the hotel with guest speakers. Small critique groups will meet twice each week.

Evangelist to hold Volcano meetings
The Village Church, Assemblies of God, at 19-4276 Wright Road in Volcano, is holding a series of meetings with evangelist David Rees-Thomas of Kailua-Kona.
There will be five services: Sunday at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m., Monday at 6:30 p.m., and Tuesday at 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. His messages will focus on the work of the Holy Spirit and the ministry of Jesus Christ in the church.
