Clarissa Taeko Saiki Kuniyoshi, 83, of Hilo, died Jan. 19, 2012 at her home. Born in Kilauea, Kauai, she was a retired Hilo High School teacher. No services. Survived by daughters, Ardis (Dr. Rodney) Ono of Hilo and Enid Susan (Gregg Amundson) Kuniyoshi of St. Paul, Minn.; brother, Jimmy (Margie) Saiki of Hawthorne, Calif.; two granddaughters; nieces and nephews. Samantha O. Brossard Channels, 36, of Hilo died Jan. 15 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Blythe, Calif., she was a homemaker, founder of gotsunblock.com, an advocacy website for skin cancer prevention and awareness, and a member of the Melanoma Research Foundation. Memorial services will be announced and held at a later date. Survived by husband, James Channels of Hilo; daughter, Embre’sha Channels of Hilo; sons, Josyah Channels, Isaac Channels and Hayzen Channels of Hilo; father, Mark S. Hiroshi Fujimoto, 88, of Laupahoehoe died Jan. 19 at Hilo Medical Center. Born in Laupahoehoe, he was a retired road construction worker for the Hamakua Sugar Company and served in the U.S. Army. George K. Hall, 86, of Volcano died Jan. 23 at home. Born in Honolulu, he was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a journeyman trainer director for the electrical union IBEW Local 1186, and also a member of the state Board of Electricians and Plumbers. Felicidad “Phyllis” “Pacia” Agua Hansen, 77, of Waimea died Jan. 15 at home. Born in Pulehu, Maui, she was a retired waitress. Services held.
