Lia Galdeira and Hoku Liftee each scored 15 points as Konawaena cruised past Hawaii Prep 61-18 on Thurday night in Waimea in a Big Island Interscholastic Federation girls basketball game.
The defending state champion Wildcats improved to 9-0 and will be heavy favorites at next weekend’s Division I BIIF championships.
Chancis Fernandez scored 14 points for the Ka Makani (6-3), who can clinch the West’s top seed at the D-II tourney with a win Saturday at against Laupahoehoe.
In junior varsity, HPA won 38-19.
